everything on this site starts in obsidian. that's where i keep a personal digital garden: daily notes, half-formed ideas, things i've read, things i'm trying. for a while the garden was the website, published as it was. i've since taken it private again. the thinking still happens there; what you see here is the part that's ready.

the site itself is my attempt at systems over templates. i didn't want a theme i'd outgrow in a year, so it's built from a handful of json files and one stylesheet: adding a piece of work is adding a row, and the design doesn't move. aesthetic as a creative constraint, not decoration. one column, one set of colours, one way of hovering, and every page has to earn its place or become a section of another.

i can't code. i described what i wanted to claude code, over a few evenings, and corrected it until it felt like mine. that's the honest version of "vibe coded", and i'd rather say it than pretend otherwise.

the point of all of it is the same as the point of posting: to share ideas while they're still forming, and to document what works and what doesn't. some of that will turn into written pieces. the rest is here, in the open, as it happens.
