this quote changed my life in my twenties
confessions of a 20-something · ep 4
a few years ago i came across this quote which absolutely changed my view on a lot of things in life especially when going through a difficult period
and i’m probably gonna butcher this quote but it goes something like this
no matter what you do, you always wish you started earlier, but today will be the youngest you’ll ever be. wow
i’m 26 and you can think i’m either too young or too old and growing up i’ve always been interested in a lot of things but as i grew older i realised i found myself holding myself back a little
and the main reason why is because i keep telling myself what’s the point of learning this new skill or new habit there are people that are 10-15 years ahead of me doing this exact thing is there really a reason to start doing this thing today? but the moment i heard this quote and the reason why it’s so powerful for me is it sort of gave me that permission that sure you know people may have many many years ahead of you but for me personally, today will be the youngest i’ve ever been.
and i think that was so relieving in so many aspects because it really gave me that permission to suck at something especially when i’m starting out and since then i’ve always filled my day with learning something new, letting my curiosity lead me which is something i’ve always done since young.
and i’m so grateful that i’ve heard this quote and that’s the reason why i want to share it with you guys
so if you’re new here welcome to confessions of a 20-something where i share my raw honest takes about someone that’s figuring out his 20s
and if you’re someone like this or you know someone that’s going through something similar you know share this video with them let them know that they are not alone because i think you guys just found your people
