the first one in

life is so unfair.

good people get hurt, loyal people get betrayed, hard workers get overlooked.

and in the past, i’ve often asked, why me?

why always me?

but recently, i came across this theory called the first one in. and the concept is essentially that you have to be the first one in your friend group to experience this thing.

it can be losing a friend for the first time, or even the first one to have a failed business.

and knowing about this doesn’t make the pain and suffering easy all of a sudden.

but it gave me a sense of comfort that one day, my friends may be going through something similar, and i want to be that pillar of support to be able to guide them through this difficult period.

and i think this is the same reason why i’m making videos like this, talking to the camera, even though it’s extremely uncomfortable for myself.

but i know that there’s someone out there who may be just a few steps behind me, and i want to be able to guide them through this period of figuring out their 20s.
